Flute School Rotterdam is an approved provider of the Rotterdam Sport- en cultuurtegoed.
Children aged 0–17 who live in Rotterdam and qualify for a Rotterdampas at the low-income rate can receive up to €600 per year towards individual flute lessons. The support is intended for families with a lower household income and is automatically added to the child’s Rotterdampas in the form of vouchers.
UP TO €600 / YEAR
towards individual or small group flute lessons
36 LESSONS / SCHOOL YEAR
30-minute individual lessons
ABOUT €48 / MONTH
family contribution when starting in September
Our regular school year runs from September to June and consists of 36 individual lessons of 30 minutes.
The regular course fee is: 36 lessons × €30 = €1,080. With the Sport- en cultuurtegoed, up to €600 per year can be covered through the Rotterdampas.
Total family contribution: €480 for the full school year. When paid over 10 months, from September to June, this comes to approximately €48 per month
No problem. Students can also start later in the school year.
If your child starts later, the total lesson fee and the family contribution are adjusted proportionally according to the number of lessons remaining.
This means you will not pay the same amount as a family starting in September. We will calculate the exact contribution based on the starting date and the remaining lessons.
Eligible children from lower-income families with a Rotterdampas can also use an instrument voucher of up to €100 towards renting or purchasing a flute through Flute School Rotterdam.
There are two possibilities:
Students can rent a flute through Flute School Rotterdam for the full school year, from September through June (10 months).
The rental package costs €100 for the full period. Students who are eligible for the full €100 instrument voucher can therefore rent the flute with no additional contribution.
The flute remains the property of Flute School Rotterdam and must be returned at the end of the rental period.
When a suitable instrument is available, students can also purchase a carefully selected second-hand flute through Flute School Rotterdam at a fair and competitive price.
The instrument voucher can cover up to €100 of the purchase price, with any remaining amount paid by the student or parent/guardian.
The exact price and model may vary depending on the instruments available at the time. Because each flute is selected individually, a suitable instrument may not always be immediately available.
Flutes purchased through the school also include a buy-back guarantee of at least 70% of the original purchase price if the student later decides not to continue playing, provided that the instrument remains in good condition and meets the conditions of the buy-back scheme.
In both cases, the instrument is supplied directly to the student by Flute School Rotterdam.
Contact us and we will be happy to discuss the available rental or purchase options with you.
The Sport- en cultuurtegoed is intended for children aged 0–17 living in Rotterdam whose family qualifies for the Rotterdampas low-income rate.
For the 2026–2027 Rotterdampas year, the current maximum combined net monthly household income, excluding allowances (toeslagen), is:
€2,000 for a single-parent household
€2,525 for married or cohabiting parents
Income limits may change from year to year, so we recommend checking your eligibility directly with Rotterdampas.
You do not need to apply separately for the Sport- en cultuurtegoed.
If your child qualifies for a Rotterdampas at the low-income rate, the Sport- en cultuurtegoed is automatically added to their Rotterdampas. The allowance is provided as vouchers and can be used directly with participating providers such as Flute School Rotterdam.
If you are unsure whether your child qualifies, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to explain how the scheme works.
Come and meet the school with a free trial lesson. We can also discuss how the Rotterdampas support would apply in your particular situation.
