Flute lessons are available for children and adults of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced players.
Lessons can be taken individually, as a duo or in a small group, and are available in English, Dutch and Spanish. Face-to-face lessons can also be combined with online lessons when needed.
A PROGRAM ADAPTED TO YOU
Every student is different. Your lessons are shaped around your level, experience, musical interests and personal goals.
Whether you are learning the flute for the first time, returning after a break, preparing for an audition or simply looking to enjoy playing more, we will work together to find an approach that suits you.
Playing the flute requires coordination, flexibility and control. Good technique, breathing and posture help you develop a clear and comfortable sound while avoiding unnecessary tension.
In the lessons, we work on building a solid technical foundation while finding solutions that suit your own body, playing style and needs.
Technique is only one part of making music. Learning to shape a phrase, understand the character of a piece and express your own musical ideas is just as important.
Enjoyment also plays a central role. Working on music you genuinely like helps keep practice motivating and makes the learning process more rewarding.
The flute is an incredibly versatile instrument.
Depending on your interests, lessons can include classical music, flamenco, Latin music, pop, rock and many other styles.
Exploring different kinds of music can broaden your musical understanding and help you become a more flexible and expressive player.
Regular student concerts and musical activities are organised throughout the school year.
They offer students the opportunity to perform, share their music and meet other people who enjoy making music. Taking part is always encouraged, but of course never required.
Being part of Flute School Rotterdam means more than just attending lessons. Students are invited to join our WhatsApp community, where we share information about concerts, courses, masterclasses and other flute-related activities that may be of interest.
It is also a way to stay connected with other flute players, exchange experiences and be part of a community built around a shared enthusiasm for the instrument.
If you do not have your own instrument yet, the school can help you find a carefully selected second-hand flute at a very competitive price.
Flutes purchased through the school include a buy-back guarantee: if you later decide not to continue playing, the school will buy the instrument back for at least 70% of the original purchase price, provided that it remains in good condition and meets the conditions of the buy-back scheme.
Eligible children from lower-income families with a Rotterdampas can use an instrument voucher of up to €100 towards the rental or purchase of a flute .
Choose the lesson format and frequency that best suits you.
Whether you're completely new to the flute or already have years of experience, a trial lesson is a chance to meet, play together and discuss what you would like to achieve.
